The mood I'm in....

I know that I've mentioned this before but I don’t very often paint what I ‘see’ more often, it’s about what I ‘feel’.  I’m an optimist by nature and one of those who wears her emotions on the shirt sleeve.... what you see is what you get.... but I notice sometimes that my work reflects my mood or has an underlying emotion (of mine) that runs through it. This isn’t to say, that when I’m painting a lonely night street scene, I’m feeling blue. Often times it has to do with music. 99% of the time, the radio or ipod is cranked up while I’m in there smearing paint around. When I’m in the mood to paint lonely streets I plug in some BB King or the like. Or maybe I am feeling like I can use a quiet evening … so I create one on canvas. Who knows how these things happen sometimes. BUT last week, my muse aka husband was out of town on business…. The house feels different when your spouse isn’t there – yes, even a lil lonely but I put my extra quite time to use and spent a lot of time creating…. Here’s the latest result.
